Three Labourers Brutally Killed in Makeshift Apartment in Lagos

Three unidentified male labourers have been gruesomely murdered in a makeshift apartment on Olateju Street, Lekki Phase One, Lagos State.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, has left residents in shock. The victims, who lived together in the structure, reportedly earned a living through daily labour and errands in the neighbourhood.
A resident, identified simply as Alfred, said the men were asleep when armed attackers stormed the room. According to him, the assailants dragged the victims outside before hacking them to death with machetes.
“The boys lived in a makeshift structure on the premises of a building on the street. They worked as labourers and helped people run errands. But on Sunday morning, one of their colleagues raised the alarm. When we got there, the three of them were lying in a pool of blood with machete wounds all over their bodies,” he recounted.
Another resident, who is a member of the Lekki Estate Residents Association, confirmed the incident threw the community into panic, adding that police operatives were immediately invited to the scene.
“We have never experienced such an incident here. Security measures are now being stepped up,” the resident added.
As of press time, the motive for the killings remained unclear.
However, community sources suggested the attack may have been connected to cult-related clashes or a personal dispute involving the deceased.
