According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, the tragic incident occurred on Sunday following an argument between the couple over suspected infidelity.
“There was a disagreement between the two, which escalated into violence. The suspect stabbed the victim with a pair of scissors. He later died in the hospital,” Ayanlade said, adding that Mowari is currently in police custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation.
A source familiar with the situation, who requested anonymity, revealed that the couple had been living together in a one-room apartment and had a history of frequent quarrels rooted in mistrust and allegations of cheating.
