Couple, Daughter Abducted in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a man, his wife, and their young daughter during an attack in the state capital on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, identified the victims as 33-year-old Anas Ahmadu, his wife Halimatu, and their daughter, Jidda, who were taken from their residence at Filin Canada Quarters around 3 a.m.
According to the police, the attackers also fatally shot 25-year-old Abdullahi Muhammad, a local vigilante member who attempted to resist the abduction, before escaping.
Upon receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) led a team to the scene, restoring calm and launching an investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu, later visited the scene alongside senior officers, deploying additional personnel and resources to aid in the rescue operation and ensure the arrest of the perpetrators.

The command appealed to residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities, assuring that all information provided would be treated confidentially.
