Tragedy in Jalingo as Reckless Driver Causes Fatal Accident
Jalingo, Taraba State A tragic incident unfolded in Jalingo leaving two innocent lives lost after a reckless driver rammed into a commercial tricycle (Keke Napep).
Eyewitnesses revealed that the driver had earlier knocked down a pedestrian around the Mechilin area but refused to stop. In a desperate attempt to flee, he was pursued by residents. During the chase, he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a moving tricycle.
The collision claimed the lives of two passengers on the spot, including a woman whose remains have been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo.
As of press time, authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident. Meanwhile, residents have expressed outrage over the reckless act, calling for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and harsher penalties for offenders to prevent further loss of lives on Jalingo roads.
