The Kogi State Government, in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the military, and other security agencies, is working to ease the severe traffic gridlock on the Lokoja–Abuja Road.
The congestion, which began on Friday evening, left hundreds of vehicles stranded for hours, disrupting movement for commuters and commercial transporters. Emergency traffic control measures were activated as officials deployed personnel to manage traffic flow, clear obstructions, and restore order along the corridor.
Authorities say efforts are ongoing to decongest the road and have urged motorists to remain patient, cooperate with traffic officials, and consider alternative routes where possible as the operation continues.
