Tinubu Swears in New Permanent Secretaries, RMAFC Commissioners at First 2025 FEC Meeting

President Bola Tinubu on Monday administered the oath of office to eight newly appointed federal permanent secretaries and 18 commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja, just before the commencement of the first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of 2025.

The event, conducted in two batches, was anchored by Abiodun Oladunjoye, the director of media in the office of the president, who read the citations of the appointees.

The new permanent secretaries include Onwusoro Ihemelandu (Abia), Ndiomu Philip (Bayelsa), Anuma Nlia (Ebonyi), Ogbodo Nnam (Enugu), Kalba Usman (Gombe), Usman Aminu (Kebbi), Oyekunle Nwakuso (Rivers), and Nadungu Gagare (Kaduna).

Similarly, Tinubu swore in 18 newly appointed RMAFC commissioners, a federal commissioner for the Federal Character Commission, and a member of the National Population Commission.

The RMAFC commissioners confirmed by the Senate last August include Linda Oti (Abia), Akpan Effiong (Akwa Ibom), Enefe Ekene (Anambra), Prof. Steve Ugba (Benue), Chief Eyonsa (Cross River), Aruviere Egharhevwe (Delta), Nduka Awuregu (Ebonyi), Victor Eboigbe (Edo), Wumi Ogunlola (Ekiti), Ozo Obodougo (Enugu), and Kabir Mashi (Katsina). Others are Adamu Fanda (Kano), Dr. Kunle Wright (Lagos), Aliyu Abdulkadir (Nasarawa), Bako Shetima (Niger), Nathaniel Adejutelegan (Ondo), Saad Ibrahim (Plateau), Modu-Aji Juluri (Yobe), Bello Garba (Zamfara), and Mohammed Usman (Gombe).

Also sworn in were Hon. Kayode Oladele as a member of the Federal Character Commission (representing Ogun State) and Mrs. Olukemi Victoria Iyantan as a commissioner for the National Population Commission (NPC).

President Tinubu urged the new appointees to demonstrate diligence, innovation, and commitment in their duties, emphasizing their critical role in advancing his administration’s governance and development agenda.

Following the ceremony, the FEC meeting commenced with members observing a minute of silence in honor of former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Jeremiah Useni, who passed away on January 23, 2025.

In attendance were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Head of Service Didi Walson-Jack, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, and several ministers.
