Panic in Agan as Residents Flee Over False Herdsmen Attack Rumor
Tension swept through Agan community in Makurdi Local Government Area on Wednesday night after rumors of an alleged attack by armed herdsmen went viral on social media.

Though no actual violence occurred, fear quickly spread, causing residents to flee in large numbers. A local source confirmed to Citizen Television that the rumors were unfounded but admitted that panic had already taken hold.
“People just started running when they heard herdsmen were coming. There was no attack, but the fear is real,” the resident said.
As a result, the once-bustling community has become nearly deserted, with many residents seeking refuge in Makurdi town, the state capital.
