Tinubu mourns passing of Sheikh Daware

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mourned the passing of a revered Islamic scholar, Sheikh Modibbo Ibrahim Daware, from Adamawa state.

The President in a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described Sheikh Daware as a man of great humility, piety, and dedication to Islamic scholarship.

Daware as a prominent leader of the Tijjaniyya sect, devoted his life to the dissemination of knowledge and the spiritual guidance of his followers.

Tinubu noted that Sheikh Daware’s contributions goes beyond his immediate community, shaping the moral and intellectual fabric of the nation.

“His passing is a painful loss not only for his family and community but also for the country,” President Tinubu stated.

The president while offering his condolences to the Adamawa State Government, the late scholar’s family, and his many disciples, prayed for divine mercy upon his soul.

“May God grant him peace and mercy in the hereafter. Sheikh Daware’s legacy will continue to inspire us, reminding us of the impact of faith, knowledge, and selfless service to humanity,” he said.

Sheikh Modibbo Ibrahim Daware was widely respected for his role in promoting religious enlightenment, unity, and moral discipline.
