Trailer crushes two to death in Oyo crash

Two middle-aged individuals lost their lives in a tragic road accident involving a trailer in Fiditi, Oyo State.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening along the new Ibadan/Oyo Expressway in the Afijio Local Government Area. Eyewitnesses said the victims were returning from a trip to Ibadan when the trailer, while trying to avoid potholes, ran over them.
According to accounts gathered by FCNN, the male victim, a motorcyclist, died instantly at the scene, while the female passenger was rushed to a hospital but later died from her injuries.
“The trailer driver was trying to dodge potholes when he lost control and crushed them,” an eyewitness told our correspondent on Monday.

Confirming the incident, the Deputy Corps Commander (Operations) of the Federal Road Safety Corps in the state, Bayode Olugbesan, said, “As of yesterday, only one death was confirmed. However, our officers have commenced a hospital follow-up, as we can only confirm a fatality once it is certified by a medical doctor.”
