Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari at his Daura residence on Wednesday morning.
FCNN gathered that Obi was notably absent during the burial on Tuesday, explained that his initial plans to attend were disrupted due to lack of available flights and the overcrowding at the Katsina airport, which had to be temporarily shut down due to the high volume of dignitaries arriving to pay their last respects.
Despite the delay, Obi made it a priority to visit the bereaved family the very next day. He was joined by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. Together, they offered condolences to Buhari’s family and later visited the former president’s graveside to offer prayers.
