Nigerians have taken to social media to share their reactions following the release of an alleged leaked phone call involving controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.

The controversy erupted on Monday after social media influencer Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, released the audio. He claimed the recording, made on May 16, 2024, is unrelated to a previous leak he had shared.

In the recording, Bobrisky allegedly admitted he was not in prison but staying in a well-furnished apartment near the prison, among other claims. The leaked conversation has sparked a mix of reactions on platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), with Nigerians expressing shock, doubt, and disappointment.

One user, tweeting as #Oforma19, commented, β€œImagine Bobrisky with a money laundering case not going to prison.” Another user, #WillsMedia247, expressed disbelief over Bobrisky’s circle of friends, saying, β€œThose Bobrisky trusted are his worst enemies.”

On Instagram, users like #real___barlow questioned the intentions behind leaking the recording, while others called out VeryDarkMan for focusing on Bobrisky’s alleged offenses instead of broader issues like corruption during the 2023 elections.

This follows an earlier leak by VeryDarkMan in September, where he claimed Bobrisky bribed Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials with N15 million to drop money laundering charges. Bobrisky denied the accusations, insisting he served his jail term and describing the previous recording as fake.
