Okrika Royal Celebration: EX CTC Chairman, Ibiene Ogan leads Wakirike Women to celebrate HRM, King Ateke Tom on His Birthday

On Sunday, June 1, 2025. The Former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Okrika Local Government Area, Hon. Princess Ibiene Ogan, joined the people of Okochiri, in Okrika community of Rivers State and Nigerians at large in celebrating the birthday of His Royal Majesty, King Dr. Ateke Michael Tom, The Amanyanabo of Okochiri Kingdom and Sekuro of the Niger Delta.

Popularly known as “Mama Light,” Princess Ogan led the Wakirike Women in Politics to the palace of the Monarch, where they presented a symbolic cow gift and extended their heartfelt prayers and wishes for the king’s continued health and long life in service to humanity.

Speaking shortly after the presentation, Princess Ogan described King Ateke Tom as a unifying father figure, whose openness to progressive ideas continues to foster development and uplift his people.

“His Majesty has always been a strong pillar of support for Okrika women across various spheres of life,” she stated. “We are proud to honour a royal father who not only believes in the potential of women but has consistently encouraged and supported our aspirations.”

She further expressed the group’s prayers for the king’s longevity, and a good advancement of the Okrika people.

“As women, we stand firmly behind His Majesty in the noble task of leading our people. We remain optimistic about a future filled with greater progress and development for the Wakirike nation,” she concluded.
