
Kidnapped Monarch Found Dead After Six Days in Captivity
The ward head of Shuwaka (Sarkin Shuwaka) in Kyaram District, Garga Community of Kanam Local Government Area, Plateau State, Mallam Hudu Hassan Barau, who was abducted by armed bandits about six days ago, has been discovered dead.
According to a statement issued by the Kanam Development Association Chairman, Garba Aliyu, and Secretary, Shehu Kanam, the late monarch’s body was recovered from the bush yesterday morning.

Kidnapped Kogi Monarch Rescued
The statement reads: “We are consumed by grief and outrage as we received the tragic news of the death of one of our community leaders, We are still grappling with the shock and pain of this senseless killing and the continued bandit attacks across the communities in the GARGA area.”
The association urged the Federal Government, security agencies, and the Plateau State Government to intensify efforts in tackling the worsening insecurity plaguing the council area.
The killing of the traditional ruler has once again drawn attention to the rising wave of kidnappings and attacks in Plateau State and across Nigeria, raising fears over the safety of rural communities constantly at the mercy of armed groups.
