19-Year-Old Housewife Arrested for Allegedly Poisoning Husband Just 40 Days After Wedding

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old housewife, identified as Aisha Musa, over an alleged attempt to poison her husband just 40 days after their wedding.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in Gwamma village, Bauchi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, the suspect allegedly mixed a poisonous substance into her husband’s food. The situation was discovered after an anonymous woman raised an alarm, prompting police officers to quickly mobilise to the location.
The victim was immediately taken to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
Police said Aisha was arrested shortly after the alleged incident and reportedly confessed during interrogation. Investigators also recovered an empty bottle suspected to have contained the poisonous substance, alongside remnants of the food allegedly served to the victim.
The recovered items have been documented and preserved as exhibits as police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged poisoning and the motive behind it.
