NAF Airstrikes Eliminate Dozens of Terrorists in Zamfara

The Nigerian Air Force, operating under Operation Fansan Yamma, has killed scores of terrorists in a series of coordinated airstrikes targeting a large convoy of bandits in Zamfara State.

According to a statement on Thursday by NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Edward Ejodame, the strikes were carried out on July 9, 2025, after real-time surveillance detected a convoy of nearly 150 motorcycles transporting armed terrorists along the Kebbi–Zamfara corridor near Yarbuga in Maru Local Government Area.

“Each motorcycle carried at least two armed bandits,” Ejodame stated. “Upon positive identification, NAF aircraft executed precision strikes on the convoy with devastating impact.”

He added that surviving terrorists attempted to flee on foot and motorcycles but were relentlessly tracked and targeted in successive follow-up strikes, effectively disrupting their escape routes.

The following morning, July 10, ground troops launched a mop-up operation in Yarbuga, where they recovered the remains of several terrorists, a cache of weapons, and dozens of burnt motorcycles.

“This joint air and ground offensive delivered a significant blow to terrorist operations in the region,” Ejodame noted. “It reflects the Air Force’s commitment to safeguarding civilian lives, restricting terrorist movements, and supporting ground forces in restoring peace nationwide.”
