Suspected Cultist Nabbed with Human Skull in Akwa Ibom

Police operatives in Akwa Ibom State have arrested a 40-year-old man, Pius Pius, suspected to be a cultist and vandal, in the Oku Abak area of Abak Local Government Area.
According to reports gathered by FCNN, Pius was apprehended on Sunday at No. 80 School Road, Oku Abak, following credible intelligence.
In a statement released on Monday, the spokesperson for the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, DSP Timfon John, confirmed the arrest and disclosed that a human skull, a transformer step-down insulator, a circuit breaker, an electric meter, and fuses were recovered from the suspect.
“On July 20, 2025, operatives of the Command arrested a suspected cultist and vandal known for targeting feeder transformers and public electricity cables in and around Abak LGA,” John stated.
She added, “At about 6:55 PM, acting on actionable intelligence, officers stormed the location and apprehended one Pius Pius, a 40-year-old male. During interrogation, he confessed to being a member of the Iceland Confraternity, a group believed to be behind various acts of infrastructure sabotage.”
Items recovered during a search of the suspect’s residence included a human skull and several electrical components believed to have been stolen.

DSP John assured that investigations are ongoing and further updates will be provided as the case progresses.
