Niger House of Assembly Passes Water User Association Bill into Law

The Niger State House of Assembly has passed the Water User Association Bill into law, aiming to establish community-led associations to manage water resources sustainably and ensure equitable access, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.

The Assembly has set up a 7-member Ad-Hoc Committee to investigate a case of alleged medical negligence at the Jummai Babangida Aliyu Neonatal and Maternal Hospital in Minna, where a woman reportedly died during surgery due to a power outage and faulty backup generator. The committee will review complaints about service delivery at the hospital and ensure accountability and patient welfare.
