Banditry : Residents Shut Down Sokoto Highway in Protest Over Rising Insecurity

Residents of Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Friday blocked the major highway passing through the town in protest against the worsening insecurity affecting their communities.

The demonstrators barricaded the busy road, disrupting vehicular movement and demanding urgent government intervention to address the persistent security challenges in the area.

According to the protesters, the increasing incidents of insecurity have left residents living in fear, prompting them to take to the streets to draw the attention of authorities to their plight.

 

 

As of the time of filing this report, the protest had caused significant traffic disruptions, while security personnel were monitoring the situation. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the development.
