Jigawa Polytechnic Honours Staff Member with N100,000 for Rejecting ₦1 Million Bribe

The Governing Council of Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dutse, has recognised a staff member, Mr. Shamsuddeen Hussaini, for demonstrating exceptional integrity after turning down a ₦1 million bribe allegedly intended to influence the processing of a Higher National Diploma (HND) examination result.

Mr. Hussaini, who serves as an Executive Officer in the institution’s Registry Department, reportedly declined the offer and promptly reported the matter through the appropriate administrative channels. His swift action helped safeguard the credibility of the Polytechnic’s examination and academic records system.

To acknowledge his exemplary conduct, the Governing Council presented him with a Letter of Commendation and a cash award of ₦100,000. The Council also recommended him to the Jigawa State Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology for additional recognition.

The Polytechnic described his actions as a reflection of honesty, professionalism, and commitment to ethical standards. His conduct has been widely commended as a model of accountability and integrity, inspiring both public servants and members of the academic community.
