Peter Obi Warns of Nigeria’s Impending Collapse, Calls for Unity and Readiness within the Labour Party

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, has issued a grave warning regarding Nigeria’s escalating economic and social turmoil, asserting that the country is on the verge of collapse.

During a National Executive Council meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, Obi urged party members to break their silence amidst the deteriorating conditions facing the nation.

“Nigeria is collapsing, and the statistics are irrefutable,” he stated. “People are becoming poorer each day, and the signs are unmistakable. We cannot afford to remain silent.”

Obi emphasized the importance of unity and inclusivity within the Labour Party, highlighting that the movement belongs to everyone involved.

“This isn’t solely about Peter Obi’s agenda; it’s about all of us. The Labour Party is a family, and we must ensure there’s no room for exclusion. Our foundation rests on principles of fairness, justice, and collective ownership.”

Looking forward, Peter Obi the Labour party 2023 Presidential candidate outlined the party’s commitment to entering future elections with enhanced preparation and a renewed dedication to excellence.

“We aim to present Nigerians with the most qualified candidates at every level—be it the House of Representatives, the Senate, gubernatorial positions, or the presidency,” he asserted.

He further stressed the necessity for loyalty and competence among potential candidates.

“We have learned from our past mistakes. Anyone seeking to carry our flag must be genuinely committed to the party’s ideals and not merely using it for personal gain. Competence and dedication are essential.”
