The Niger State government has disbursed N808 million to victims of the Mokwa flood disaster.
FCNN gathered that the beneficiaries include: 458 households, each receiving N1 million, 424 owners of destroyed houses and shops, each receiving N500,000, and 138 families of deceased victims, each receiving N1 million.
However,75-80% of survivors have received interventions, including food items and cash, from the Niger State government, donor agencies, and individuals.
The interventions were facilitated by the synergy between NSEMA (Niger State Emergency Management Agency) and community-based organisations.
In addition, 20-25% of survivors have not received interventions, mostly those who quickly left the town or relocated to other states.
