Police arrest man for snatching phone, stabbing victim in Adamawa

Usman Abubakar of Shuware Ward, Mubi North LGA have been arrested by operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command, for allegedly snatching a resident’s handset.
In a statement signed by police spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje, on Monday, the police command said the arrest was made on Sunday, February 23, following a complaint by the victim.
The statement read “The arrest of the suspect followed a complaint received on 23/02/2025 from one Hadiza Atiku of Wuro Harde Ward, Mubi North LGA,”
The police SP also explained that the complainant reported being attacked while walking near Jambas Hotel, Mubi.
The suspect allegedly blocked her path, stabbed her with scissors, and robbed her of her Infinix WOD 9 handset.
Nguroje stated that “Upon receiving the report, operatives of the Command attached to Mubi North Divisional police headquarters swiftly moved into action, leading to the arrest of the suspect,”

He added that the stolen Infinix handset, a pair of scissors and a tricycle used in the commission of the crime had been recovered.
“The suspect Usman Abubakar of Shuware is currently in custody aiding investigation,” he added.
