Lagos Taskforce loses Officer During Operation

Inspector Saka Ganiyu, a personnel of Lagos State Taskforce with AP/No 223409, has lost his life.
The taskforce personnel was fatally stabbed by a soldier during an enforcement operation at Volks Bus Stop, along the Ojo-Iyana Iba Road, in the early hours of Yesterday.
Fusion Chronicles gathered that the incident occurred at about 7am when the Lagos State Taskforce’s Anti-One-Way team which was led by James Nnadi, a Superintendent of Police arrested a white T4 bus for driving against traffic. The bus, loaded with passengers, was Wave down by the Taskforce officers.
While trying to effect the confiscation of the vehicle, the driver who was identified as a military personnel was not in uniform created a scene and wielding dangerous weapons. During the assault, the bus driver stabbed Inspector Saka Ganiyu in the right thigh who was immediately rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), for medical attention but was tragically pronounced dead.
The Lagos State Taskforce condemns this brutal and unwarranted attack on law enforcement officers who were dutifully carrying out their legal responsibilities to ensure obedience with traffic regulations and maintain public order in the State.
The incident has been moved to the State Police Command for immediate investigation, and justice will be served for the loss of our dedicated officer.
The Lagos State Taskforce however extends its deepest condolences to the family of the late inspector during this difficult time.
