A fresh leadership crisis has emerged within the All Progressives Congress (APC) following a bold declaration by Alhaja Hafsatu Danladi, who has proclaimed herself the legitimate National Chairperson of the party.
In a press statement released on Wednesday, Danladi insisted that she is the “true and authentic” leader of the APC, citing recent internal developments as justification for her claim.
She announced plans to approach the Federal High Court in Abuja to challenge the legality of the party’s current leadership structure. According to her, the move is aimed at dismantling what she described as an “illegitimate” leadership currently managing the party’s affairs.
Danladi further disclosed that she will seek a court order directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw recognition from the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Nentawe Yilwatda.
She emphasized that her legal action is intended to uphold the rule of law, safeguard the integrity of the APC, and ensure that due process is strictly followed in determining the party’s leadership.
The development signals a potential escalation of internal disputes within the ruling party, raising concerns about unity and stability ahead of future political activities.
