Gaza Gbefwi’s 2027 Governorship Bid Gains Momentum as One Million Votes Movement Unveils Technical Committees

The One Million Votes Support Movement has formally unveiled its Campaign Technical Committee to coordinate activities aimed at supporting the governorship aspiration of Right Honourable Gaza Jonathan Gbefwi ahead of the 2027 Nasarawa State gubernatorial election. The development is being viewed by political observers as a significant step toward building a statewide political structure capable of mobilizing support across all local government areas, wards, and polling units in the state.

According to the movement, the establishment of the committee reflects a commitment to adopting a modern, organized, and data-driven approach to political engagement. The structure is expected to provide strategic direction for campaign activities while ensuring effective coordination of grassroots mobilization, media engagement, fundraising, legal compliance, voter outreach, and election-day operations.

As part of the newly unveiled structure, a Data and Research Committee has been established to conduct voter registration analysis, polling unit mapping, and demographic studies that will guide campaign decisions. The committee is expected to provide the factual and statistical foundation upon which campaign strategies and voter engagement initiatives will be developed.

The Strategy and Planning Committee will be responsible for designing the overall campaign roadmap, setting timelines, developing messaging frameworks, and preparing budget projections. The committee is expected to serve as the central planning body that will coordinate the movement’s political activities leading up to the 2027 election.

The Media and Communication Committee has been tasked with managing press relations, coordinating social media campaigns, producing publicity materials and jingles, as well as handling speech writing and crisis communication. The committee will play a critical role in projecting the movement’s vision and communicating its activities to the public.

To ensure smooth execution of campaign events, a Logistics and Mobilization Committee has also been established. The committee will oversee transportation arrangements, venue management, sound systems, rally coordination, and the mobilization of supporters during major political activities and on election day.

The movement has further constituted a Legal and Compliance Committee to ensure that all campaign activities conform with the regulations and guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant laws. The committee will also be responsible for handling petitions, legal matters, and issues relating to party regulations.

Recognizing the importance of safety and stability during political activities, a Security and Intelligence Committee has been created to conduct risk assessments, monitor potential flashpoints, maintain liaison with security agencies, and provide strategic advice on security matters throughout the campaign period.

The Finance and Fundraising Committee will oversee campaign budgeting, donor relations, expenditure monitoring, and financial accountability. The committee is expected to ensure transparency and compliance with all financial regulations governing political campaigns.

In addition, an IT and Digital Committee has been established to manage digital engagement platforms, including websites, mobile applications, bulk SMS services, WhatsApp and Telegram groups, as well as other technology-driven voter outreach initiatives. The committee will focus on expanding the movement’s digital presence and enhancing communication with supporters across the state.

Speaking on the initiative, leaders of the One Million Votes Support Movement described the committee structure as a strategic investment in the future of Nasarawa State. They emphasized that the movement seeks to unite youths, women, professionals, traditional stakeholders, and community leaders behind a common vision of development, inclusive governance, and transformational leadership.
