Delta State Governor Sacks Information Commissioner

Delta State Governor, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, has relieved Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza of his duties as the Commissioner for Information.

Although the reasons for the dismissal remain unclear, Dr. Fred Latimor Oghenesivbe, Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communication, confirmed: “The former Commissioner for Information, Ifeanyi Osuoza, had been briefed already of the state of affairs.”

A source disclosed that Governor Oborevwori instructed Charles Aniagwu, the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads), to temporarily oversee the Ministry of Information.

According to Oghenesivbe, “Charles Aniagwu will take over the two ministries (Works and Information) for the meantime,” with an official announcement expected soon. Aniagwu is set to resume his expanded role on Monday.

Insiders suggest the decision to remove Osuoza stems from complaints of alleged incompetence. Aniagwu, who previously served as Chief Press Secretary and Commissioner for Information during ex-Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration, brings extensive experience to the dual role.
