NBA Drags IG to Court Over Tinted-Glass Permit Policy
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has taken the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to the Federal High Court over the controversial tinted-glass permit policy.
In the suit, the NBA argues that the directive requiring motorists to obtain police clearance before using vehicles with tinted glasses is unlawful, arbitrary, and a violation of citizens’ fundamental rights to freedom of movement and privacy.
The association is asking the court to declare the policy null and void, while also restraining the police from enforcing it.
