BREAKING: Kenneth Okonkwo Publishes Alleged Evidence, Insist That Peter Obi and NDC Officials Demands Bribe From Aspirants

Actor-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo has released what he describes as supporting evidence to reinforce allegations of corruption involving the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, and certain party leaders in the Southeast.

Okonkwo alleges that aspirants seeking elective positions during the party’s primary elections were compelled to make unauthorized payments in exchange for securing party tickets.

The latest development comes after Obi’s legal representatives issued a pre-action notice demanding a retraction of the allegations and threatening a ₦5 billion defamation lawsuit. The dispute stems from comments made by Okonkwo during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, where he claimed that House of Representatives aspirants were required to pay ₦10 million to obtain party nominations.

In a series of posts shared on Wednesday, Okonkwo rejected the legal threat and disclosed details of what he described as private communications with Obunike Ohaegbu, an NDC House of Representatives aspirant for the Nnewi North/South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency.

According to Okonkwo, although Ohaegbu later appeared in media interviews to deny or soften criticism of the party, he had privately accused party leadership of involvement in the alleged payment arrangement. Okonkwo further claimed that Ohaegbu identified Peter Obi as the principal figure overseeing the purported scheme.

The allegations remain disputed, and no court has yet ruled on the claims made by either party.
