Wike Celebrates Women as Pillars of Society on International Women’s Day

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has commended women for their invaluable contributions to society, recognizing them as the pillars of homes and essential to the nation’s progress.

In his International Women’s Day goodwill message, Wike expressed his appreciation, particularly for women in the FCT, acknowledging their unique roles in both family and societal development.

His Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, released a statement from Milan, Italy, where the minister is currently on an official engagement.

“Under Wike, as the FCT Minister, women will always get their deserved recognition and positioning.”

Wike emphasized that women are the custodians of family values, playing a vital role in sustaining the family unit, which is the foundation of any society.

While extending his appreciation to women in the FCT, Wike urged them to continue supporting the government’s efforts, assuring them of more benefits under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Wike’s remarks come amid renewed government commitments to women’s empowerment and inclusion in leadership roles within the FCT and beyond.
