Northern CAN, NEF condermes plateau state killing

The Northern Christian Association of Nigeria (Northern CAN) has strongly condemned the recent killings of innocent men, women, and children in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam, Chairman of Northern CAN, expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the families of the victims and the entire people of Bokkos in a press statement released on April 5, 2025.

The organization vehemently condemns the senseless killings, describing them as “evil,” “wicked,” and “crimes against humanity.”

Northern CAN urges the Federal and State Governments, as well as security agencies, to take immediate action to arrest the perpetrators and ensure justice is served swiftly and transparently.

This incident is part of a larger pattern of violence and attacks on Christian communities in Nigeria.

In December 2023, coordinated mass shootings and arson attacks occurred in Plateau State, resulting in approximately 200 deaths and over 500 injuries.

The attacks were believed to have been committed by Fulani militias, and were attributed to ethnic and religious tensions, land disputes, and herder-farmer conflicts.
