President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed former House of Representatives member Ayo Hulayat Omidiran as the new Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, succeeding Dr Muheeba Dankaka, whose tenure was marred by controversy.
The president also named Mohammed Musa as the Commission’s secretary and retained Kayode Oladele from Ogun State as a commissioner. Oladele, also a former lawmaker, served as the Commission’s acting chairman after his 2024 appointment.
Renewed for a second term are Lawal Ya’u Roni from Jigawa, Abubakar Atiku Bunu from Kebbi, Eludayo Eluyemi from Osun, and Abdulwasiu Kayode Bawalla from Lagos.
