Police Recover Three Headless Bodies Dumped in River Near Odigbo-Ore Road
A chilling discovery has unsettled residents of Ondo State, as police operatives recovered three headless bodies floating in a river along the Odigbo-Ore road.
According to sources, the bodies were already in a state of decomposition when they were found on Sunday. The gruesome sight has sparked fear and speculation within the affected communities.
An eyewitness, Shileola, described the moment he received news of the incident and rushed to the scene.
“I was shocked when I first heard about it over the phone. I rushed to the scene, hoping to identify the victims through their clothing or any other means but all efforts proved abortive,” he said.
Shileola also noted that no missing persons had been reported in the surrounding communities, fueling suspicions that the victims may have been murdered elsewhere and dumped in the river.
Confirming the incident, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Alayande Olayinka, said the bodies were moved to the mortuary shortly after the discovery.

“I can confirm to you that some three bodies were recovered at the river in Odigbo. Immediately it was reported at the Ore Division, the DPO of that division moved a detective to the scene where the three bodies were recovered.
However, the DPO upon recovering the body, the body was taken to the morgue.
The DPO summoned the community leaders and all interest groups to ensure the identification of the body. He directed that anybody that has information to go there and check. But ever since then we have not received any. Nobody has been able to identify any of the bodies.
And it is believed that those bodies were brought there and dumped at that site by some unknown men. So we believe that that did not actually happen in those days.
The area it happened bordered a lot of states, both Ogun and Edo States. So we believe the body is not from these states. However, it was dumped in that river. But perhaps the river swept it both times.”
The police have launched a full investigation into the incident as community leaders and security agencies work to uncover the identities of the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
