Nollywood Plans Memorial Service for Jnr Pope, Four Others Victims of Boat Tragedy

In memory of Jnr Pope and four other individuals who tragically lost their lives in the Anam River boat accident on April 10, 2024, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Delta State chapter, is organizing a memorial service and novelty march.
A source confirmed to Saturday Vanguard that a planning committee has been established to oversee the event.
The memorial will mark the one-year anniversary of the unfortunate incident and is scheduled to take place at a Catholic Church in Asaba, Delta State. The event comes amid troubling allegations from the father of Olanti, a deceased sound engineer involved in the mishap, who has accused film producer Adanma Luke of abandoning his family after the tragedy.
Pastor Joseph Lazarus, the father of the late Olanti, described his son as the “breadwinner of the family” and expressed his distress, stating that life has not been the same since Olanti’s passing.
Pastor Lazarus recounted that following his son’s death, Adanma Luke transferred only N300,000 to his bank account and has since not reached out or offered any condolences to the family. “She never bothered to visit or send any commiserating message to my family,” he lamented.
As the Senior Pastor at God’s Salvation Miracle Centre in Asaba, Lazarus is now seeking financial assistance, expressing struggles to cover his household expenses since his son’s death.
