President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the transfer of the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation (OSGoF) from the Ministry of Works to the Presidency.
The directive was issued during Thursday’s National Economic Council (NEC) meeting. According to the President, the move aims to improve coordination and accelerate the implementation of major infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar and Sokoto-Badagry Super Highways.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, confirmed the development while speaking to State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
Idris stated that the decision is intended to streamline geospatial data management and ensure more effective presidential oversight of national mapping and land administration.
