Israeli Ambassador Visits Benue State University, Explores Academic, Tech Partnerships

The Vice-Chancellor of Benue State University (BSU), Professor Tor Joe Iorapuu, today hosted His Excellency Michael Freeman, the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, during a high-profile working visit aimed at strengthening educational and technological ties.

The Ambassador was accompanied by His Excellency Revd. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State and Visitor to the University.

In his address, Ambassador Freeman commended the university’s dedication to academic excellence and research, emphasizing the need for enhanced cooperation between Israel and BSU, especially in agriculture, innovation, and digital technology.

Governor Alia also underscored the visit’s importance in reinforcing diplomatic and academic relationships while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to advancing education and development in Benue State.

Professor Iorapuu, in response, expressed gratitude for the visit and assured the Ambassador of BSU’s willingness to pursue partnerships that would enhance teaching, learning, research, and infrastructure.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured the Unipod Innovation Hub and the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology. They also engaged in an interactive session with key faculty members, further solidifying the university’s commitment to global collaborations.

The event witnessed a grand reception from the university management, with deans, directors, and staff turning out in large numbers to welcome the distinguished guests.
