Son Arrested for Fatally Stabbing Father in Land Sale Dispute, Pastor Held for Rape in Imo

The Imo State Police Command has arrested a 39-year-old man, Ifeanyi Odinka, for allegedly stabbing his 75-year-old father, Dennis Odinka, to death during a quarrel over proceeds from a land sale in Orlu.
Police spokesperson Henry Okoye, in a statement on Wednesday, said operatives of the Orlu Division apprehended the suspect on August 12, 2025, following the incident in Amaifeke, Orlu Local Government Area. Okoye noted that Ifeanyi confessed to the crime and has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Owerri, for further investigation and prosecution.
In a separate case, operatives from Orlu Division arrested 32-year-old Pastor Ikenna Emmanuel of Authentic Power City Church, Umuobom, Ideato South LGA, and his accomplice, Franklin Chizoba, for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman under the guise of offering special prayers.
According to Okoye, the suspects lured the victim to Emmanuel’s residence on June 30, 2025, gave her a drink laced with a substance that made her dizzy, and then took turns assaulting her. During interrogation, both men confessed to the offence and admitted to engaging in homosexual acts.
They were charged in court on August 12, 2025, and remanded at the Owerri Correctional Facility pending trial.
