EFCC orders arrest of dismissed officer over Lege Miami show appearance

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has ordered the arrest of one of its dismissed staff members, Olakunle Alex Folarin, after he was recently seen participating in a matchmaking show hosted by entertainer Lege Miami on social media.

In a statement issued on its official X handle on Monday, the commission said Folarin, who worked as a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate, was dismissed after investigations confirmed he forged his academic credentials.

The EFCC noted that despite his dismissal, Folarin unlawfully retained some official items, including his staff identity card.

“The Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has directed that Folarin be arrested for failing to return Commission property in his possession,” the statement read.

The agency strongly distanced itself from Folarin’s actions, stressing that his conduct after dismissal should not be linked to the EFCC.
