Suspension Of LG Chairman Causes Tension in Niger

The Local Government Chairman, Hon. Aminu Ladan, was suspended by the council’s legislative arm last week. This move likely had significant implications for the governance and administration of the local government.

FCNN gathered that a court granted Hon. Ladan an interim injunction, which temporarily halts his suspension. This injunction effectively allows him to continue functioning as the Local Government Chairman, at least for now.

In response to the situation, security operatives have been deployed to the Chanchaga Local Government Secretariat. This move suggests that the authorities are taking steps to maintain order and possibly prevent any potential disruptions or confrontations.
