FCT Area Council Services Secretariat to Host Football Competition in Celebration of Local Government Autonomy

In a move aimed at celebrating the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly in advancing local government autonomy, the Office of the Mandate Secretary, FCT Area Council Services Secretariat, is set to organize a grand football tournament titled the FCT Area Council Cup.
Announcing this initiative on his official Facebook page, Hon. Lawrence Bitrus Garki revealed that the competition will feature 12 teams, with two teams representing each of the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). These councils include Abaji, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Kwali, and the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
According to Hon. Garki, the tournament promises an engaging lineup, with each team scheduled to play 10 matches during the competition. As a token of encouragement and recognition, the organizers will provide 450 free jerseys to all participating players. The ultimate prize for the tournament winners will be the prestigious FCT Area Council Cup, further elevating the excitement surrounding the event.
