Butcher Kidnapped and Murdered After Cow Purchase Trap – Ejule, Ofu LGA
Mr. Seidu, a well-known butcher and meat seller from Ejule in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, has been gruesomely murdered after falling victim to a deadly trap.
On the eve of Sallah, Mr. Seidu received a call from a man believed to be Fulani, inviting him to Achigili village in Dekina LGA to buy a cow. Tragically, that was the last time he was seen alive.

Days later, his family was contacted by suspected kidnappers demanding a ransom of ₦2 million. Despite paying the ransom, Mr. Seidu was not released, and the abductors went silent.
Acting on a report, police operatives arrested two Fulani suspects who, during interrogation, confessed to killing Mr. Seidu. They led security personnel to the shallow grave where his decomposed body was recovered.
The incident has left the community in shock, sparking widespread calls for local youths to prioritize the protection of their people rather than turning against them.
Photos of the suspected killers and Mr. Seidu’s remains have since emerged, further fueling outrage and calls for justice.
