Cricket: Salome Sparkles as Nigeria Crush Cameroon by 104 Runs

Nigeria’s Female Yellow Greens secured their second win at the 2025 Kwibuka Women’s T20i tournament with a dominant 104-run victory over Cameroon on Saturday at Gahanga Cricket Stadium 2 in Rwanda.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Nigeria put up a commanding total of 140 for 4 in their 20 overs. Leading the charge was Salome Sunday, who delivered a blistering unbeaten 53 off just 36 balls.

She received solid support from Esther Sandy (23 runs) and Kehinde Amusa (19 runs), helping set a formidable target.

Cameroon’s response never gained momentum. Their innings crumbled to just 36 runs for the loss of six wickets in nine overs. Amusa shone with the ball as well, claiming 2 wickets for only 4 runs in her two-over spell.

Liliane Ude and Rukayat Abdulrasaq chipped in with a wicket each, further stifling the Cameroonian side.

The emphatic 104-run win marks Nigeria’s second triumph of the tournament and a much-needed confidence boost as they push for a strong finish.
