Police Rescue Retired AIG Odumosu’s Wife, Neutralize Kidnappers, Recover Ransom

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has successfully rescued the wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu, who was abducted by armed kidnappers in Ogun State. The operation resulted in the neutralization of the kidnappers and the recovery of the ransom.

Mrs. Odumosu was kidnapped on Friday from her residence in Arepo, Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area, by four heavily armed men who stormed the property, firing sporadically. Reports indicate she was dragged from her Lexus Jeep and taken through swampy terrain to an undisclosed location.

In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed the operation’s success, saying:

“Police Neutralize AIG Hakeem Odumosu’s wife Kidnappers, Recovers Ransom. The IGP has commended the Police Operatives and CP Ogun State, Lanre Ogunlowo, for a good job. We are committed to safeguarding Nigerian citizens and our dear country.”

Details of the rescue operation are yet to be disclosed, but the Inspector General of Police (IGP) commended the Ogun State Police Command for their swift and effective response. Further updates on the incident are expected in due course.
