Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants arrived around midnight, heavily armed and shooting sporadically to instill fear among residents. The chaos and confusion allowed them to break into the pastor’s residence with little resistance. Pastor Ali, who serves as the head of the ECWA congregation in the area, was taken from his home while his family watched helplessly.
Local sources say the attackers operated for over an hour without any intervention from security forces, highlighting ongoing concerns about safety and law enforcement in rural communities across Kaduna State.
This incident marks yet another violent abduction in the region, which has been plagued by relentless attacks and kidnappings by armed groups targeting clergy, villagers, and travelers.
Community leaders and church officials have called on the Kaduna State Government and federal security agencies to act swiftly in ensuring the safe return of Pastor Ali and to bolster security measures to prevent future occurrences.
