The Rafeeqee Foundation has empowered over 1,000 individuals and paid hospital bills for dozens of Muslims across Nigeria as part of its ongoing Zakat initiative to support low-income earners.
Operating across 10 states, the foundation aims to provide sustainable development opportunities and lift the less privileged out of poverty through structured financial aid.
The Project Execution Lead, Mrs. Monsurat Ayantola, emphasized the foundation’s commitment to ensuring that Zakat contributions are distributed effectively.
“Empowering low-income individuals is a cornerstone of the Rafeeqee Foundation’s mission, and this we achieved through targeted Zakat initiatives. Our careful selection process is one of our core values in ensuring that we’re selecting people that meet Zakat as prescribed by the Sharia.”
The foundation’s Director of Social Services, Dr. Mutiat Muhammad, called on communities and well-meaning Nigerians to collaborate in the fight against poverty.
“Our sole aim of Zakatul Maal Empowerment is to help break the cycles of poverty, foster self-reliance, strengthen community development, and inspire positive change.”
