Terror in Kaduna: Bandits Abduct 61 Residents, Including Women and Children
Gunmen suspected to be bandits reportedly stormed Buda, a community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Monday, abducting at least 61 residents. Among those taken were men, women, children, and even a nursing mother with a two-week-old baby, according to a survivor.
The attack has left the community in distress, with no word from the abductors or victims since the incident. A local resident, whose siblings were among those kidnapped, pleaded with authorities to take swift action to secure their release.
“The situation is devastating because we haven’t had any communication from them. We urge the government to intervene immediately,” he said. He also called for increased security presence in the area, revealing that the kidnappers, who arrived in large numbers, fired shots indiscriminately before making away with their victims.
As of the time of this report, the police had not issued any official statement regarding the abduction. However, sources suggest that the bandits and their captives are still on the move and have yet to reach their destination.

This incident follows another mass abduction in Kuriga, a community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where over 200 students and teachers were kidnapped from LEA Primary School.
According to an eyewitness who wished to remain anonymous, the attack occurred around 8:30 am while students were wrapping up their morning assembly. The gunmen reportedly approached from multiple directions, surrounding the school before taking away both primary and secondary school students.
Many of the students had previously been relocated to the primary school for safety reasons, fearing possible attacks—yet the bandits struck nonetheless.
Both incidents have heightened concerns about security in the region, with residents urging authorities to take urgent steps to prevent further kidnappings and rescue those already in captivity.
