Charlie Kirk killer to be charged to court on Tuesday
The suspect in the murder of Charlie Kirk is in custody and will be formally charged on Tuesday
Tyler Robinson’s arrest was revealed by Utah Governor Spencer Cox this morning.
New details have since emerged. On Thursday, Robinson’s father recognised his son in pictures released by the FBI, according to our corespondent.
The 22-year-old confessed, so his father said he should hand himself in – but Tyler Robinson said he would rather kill himself
The father called a youth pastor, who called the US Marshals, who secured him until the FBI took the suspect into custody
Earlier, Cox said a family member reported Robinson had become “more political” in recent years – the suspect was on an electrical apprenticeship, but was not a student at the university where the shooting happened
Bullet casings were found with inscriptions, including one saying: “Hey fascist! Catch!” Another inscription seemed to be reference to a video game code
