NSCDC arrests seven for vandalism at Kano airport

The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested seven individuals suspected of vandalising facilities at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said the suspects were caught after allegedly stealing 10 manhole covers belonging to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.
Abdullahi explained that the arrest was carried out by NSCDC operatives stationed at the airport, who later transferred the suspects to the Anti-vandalism Unit for further investigation. This led to the apprehension of additional suspects linked to the crime.
Those arrested include Abubakar Umar, 20; Sadiq Jafar, 23; Iliya Nasir, 20; Abba Muhammad, 18; and Al-Ameen Idris, 18. Two others — identified as Shamsu Ibrahim Usman, 35, and Yusuf Abdulmumini, 25 — were arrested for allegedly receiving the stolen items.
