IGP Orders Posting of Commisioners of Police Over insecurity

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has ordered the immediate posting of 38 Commissioners of Police to various State Commands and Police Formations. This significant realignment is in direct response to the rising crime rates and security challenges across the nation, a key priority for the newly appointed IGP.

The deployment aims to bolster security presence and ensure a more proactive and community-responsive policing strategy.Nine Commissioners of Police have been appointed to key state commands facing heightened security concerns.

An additional 29 CPs have been reassigned to various specialized formations across the country. This deployment includes reassignments to critical police formations.

In a statement, IGP Egbetokun emphasized the need for effective intelligence-led policing in addressing security issues.Each CP will be tasked with implementing tailored strategies that reflect the unique requirements of their respective formations, ensuring both proactive and effective policing.
